ACE Reporting for Export and Import

Led by CBP - Modernized ACE Portal

CBP’s Carlos Rodriguez Previews New ACE Training - Check out the following Q&A for a sneak peek!

Did you know that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recently launched a new and improved version of its Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) portal? This makes our annual CBP-led ACE Reporting Demonstrations for Export and Import more critical than ever! Find out more below.

What is ACE?

The Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) is the system through which the trade community reports imports and exports, and the government determines admissibility. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) applies expertise, technology, and automation to create streamlined and efficient processes to facilitate the global exchange of safe and legitimate goods.

The ACE Secure Data Portal offers users real-time access to trade data through features such as ACE Reports and ACE account management and serves as the primary system for the international trade community to connect with CBP, trade partners, and Partner Government Agencies (PGA) via a single, central access window. This “single window” approach facilitates faster, more efficient processing of imports and exports, while eliminating redundancy and significantly reducing paper usage and operational costs.

What are the benefits of an ACE Portal Account?

  • Access AD/CVD case management and message information database.
  • Access Importer Security Filing (ISF) and progress reports.
  • Access reports tool for real-time transactional data to identify and evaluate compliance issues.
  • Account Revenue data updated hourly.
  • Any element transmitted in ACE will become available in ACE reporting.
  • Cargo Release and Entry Summary Data refreshed nightly.
  • Create blanket declarations for entry summary processing and nationwide view.
  • Enroll in Periodic Monthly Statements and customize payment schedules.
  • Identify unauthorized filers.
  • Monitor periodic monthly statements as they are being built.
  • Proactively monitor trade compliance and identify discrepancies.
  • Receive, respond to, and monitor CBP Forms 28, 29, and 4647.

ACE Portal Modernization

CBP is modernizing the ACE Secure Data Portal over multiple phases throughout 2022 and 2023. This modernization includes the transition of existing functionality to an upgraded platform for better performance and easier use. (Click here to be redirected to the CBP website for more information!)

As CBP’s planned updates continue, the upgraded platform is now in place with a new URL – https://ace.cbp.gov – for the trade community to log in to the modernized ACE Secure Data Portal. Once logged in, users can access the legacy ACE Portal (and other features that have not yet transferred to the modernized portal), via a button in the “references” tab.

Note: Through the final deployment of the ACE Portal enhancements, users will have access to both the legacy ACE Portal and the new ACE Portal. During this period, CBP will continuously synchronize data between both versions.

What are the benefits of an ACE demonstration class?

These two-hour demonstrations provide attendees with the skills and knowledge to navigate the ACE Report tool and take advantage of its various reporting capabilities.

Note: The National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA) grants 2.5 CCS/CES credits per demonstration. Further information will be provided after the sessions.
