Core Tools Support™ (CTS) Software

In June 2015, AIAG, in collaboration with Deloitte Consulting LLP, released the Quality 2020 report, highlighting critical issues impacting automotive quality as identified in the organizations’ groundbreaking survey.

After finding the majority of automotive suppliers were using Excel-based approaches to complete and manage their Core Tools related document authoring, it became clear that AIAG needed to update the Core Tools Forms product offering to better support the industry; in response, AIAG’s Quality Steering Committee approved the launch of a Core Tools Forms Solution project at the end of 2016.

Following the creation of the project work group, AIAG solicited additional industry feedback – specifically from Tier 2 and lower companies – via a Voice of the Customer survey, which showed a strong international interest in replacing the previous Core Tools “spreadsheets on a CD” product with a cloud-based application.

Tier 2 and lower suppliers voiced a critical need for support in successfully executing the Core Tools during their new product and process development projects. They called for a robust but flexible solution: a tool that provides the required forms, but also allows for customization to support their unique needs.

In the months that followed, AIAG worked diligently to develop the new Core Tools Support™ (CTS) software – and hundreds of customers and volunteers provided feedback along the way, requesting specific changes, features and benefits.

The result? A simplified, intuitive solution that makes authoring and managing FMEA, Control Plan and PPAP documents easier than ever.
